1989 Ford F150 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I own a 89 ford f150 some times it works in 4 high and 2 wheel and some times it ackts like it kicks out of gear but it pulls hard in 4 low no prob what could be going on

Have you checked the linkage to make sure it is tight and properly adjusted? Also, is this an electric shift 4wd?

No I have not and no it is manual 4 wheel how hard is it to adjust linkage?

It is easy to adjust. First, check to make sure it is attached and moving the lever on the transfer case.
