Door ajar light

2002 ford explorer v8 with 45000. The door ajar message is displayed on my message screen but all doors are closed?

Are the interior lights such as dome staying on also?

This could be from a few things, the doors are not closing right. Bad door light switch or a broken wire that is grounding the sensor for the door light. Check all the wires and switches. To check witch one it could be do one door at a time open.

Sometimes spraying the door latches with a light penetrant on the fords resolve this issue as well.
