After setting 4 wheel drive selector to 4H, vehicle shifts to 4WD for about 5 seconds, then shifts out of 4WD.

I need you to remove the actuator from the transfer case and have it checked. Chances are it isn't properly engaging. Also, when this happens, does it indicate that it is in 2wd? Do you hear any grinding?

Let me know the answers to the last two questions before removing the actuator.

There is no grinding. When putting the selector knob on 4H, the Orange 4X4 Light appears on the dash, and then goes off, and the vehicle stays in 2WD.
