Transmission problem
1995 Ford Explorer

The problem that I am having is that my speedometer needle has been wobbling. I had the speed sensor replaced but it still wobbles, not as much, but still a little. I have had the transmission replaced last year and even had it looked at within the past month and they did not find a problem with it. What should I do?

Hi Debra,

Have you checked the cable going into the back of the speedometer. You may need to replace the gear or even the whole cable.

My explorer is digital, no cables to check. Auto shop says it needs the plastic drive gear that is in the transmission but the part is no longer made. They are continuing to locate part, have transmissions shops looking also. Any advice?

Ok, sorry just thought thst it was a regular dash since you said the Needle was fluctuating.

Anyway, would you post the sub-model, engine size in liters and the vin # and I will see what I can come up with.
