1999 Ford Expedition V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello, I have a 1999 Ford Expedition and the mass air flow sensor went bad. I replaced it and running about 60 percent better after driving it around block. I was told that it might take time for the computer to react to the change. So I reset the computer by unpluging the battery. The service light went off. So I drove it around the block again and still running about 60% better. Will it take some time for the computer to reset?

The computer does have to adapt but nothing to that degree. Now that you have cleared the computer, your going to have to wait for it to find problems again.
Do you happen to be using a K&N filter?

A K&N is a reusable filter that is oiled for dust but the oil contaminates the MAF.
