My fan is not coming on and my car is overheating I have tested the fan and it works when I hook it up to my battery I do not know what to do from here any help would be great

I have a 98 and it has 2 sensors on the thermostat housing (where the top radiator hose connects to the engine). The 1 closest to the firewall is the one that controls the rad fan. Try replacing that sensor (if you have the same thing as I).
