Hello. I have a problem with my Ford Escort. I hooked a loose wire up to my cooling fan, I have a 1.9L 4cyl, 88HP. It was in the engine bay, and, since I just bought this vehicle, I asked the owner where it went. He said to the fan. I tried this, and my fan doesn't work. If I idle, it heats up but when I'm driving, It's fine. Any ideas? Checked relays behind my intake and fuses. Didn't find any faults. Also checked interior fused. All good there. My Ignition is a flipswitch, turn the key on and flip a switch to activate starter, as ignition switch went out.

Why don't you just wire the fan direct from the battery with a toggle switch just like the flipflop switch for the starter

I did, however, find that i have a cable with a white female plug that mounts on my transmision. I looked at this the other day, and can't find where it goes. Everything else looks good.
