I have had the tone rings replaced on this vehicle at 36,000 and 40, 500. Now, I think one of them is bad again! The abs light came on again and said service brakes/service 4x4 system. That is what it did before when they were bad. I found out that this is a common problem with these vehicles. Is there anyway to stop this problem. I read on the internet that one guy fixed his with gorilla glue and another had his welded. The part costs about $37, but the ford comapny has charged me almost $400 on two separate occasions to fix this problem. I can't afford to keep shelling out that kind of money, because ford made a cheap product. Any ideas of how I can stop this problem?

So what are they saying about the rings (The Ford Dealer)? That they are always cracked in some way?
Are they on the same wheel or multiple wheels?

Supposedly they are always cracked---they never show them to me, but the one is just a year old and the newer one is only 8 months old. I am not rough on my vehicle--I drive it normally and I take good care of this thing, because it is costing me a lot of money. I am pissed, because how come these things are so defective and my warranty plan won't cover them.

Depends upon your warranty plan, also depends upon what is happening. The one if replaced under 12 month or 12,000 miles should be covered by a Ford service part warranty.

I've seen a few of them crack, but that's over the multiple car lines, But usually when they break they will cause a ABS light and a weird braking sensation
