I have a 2003 Ford XLT V6 Escape, when I turn on the truck in the morning or during the day it turns ove fine but will die out in seconds, just replace the fuel pump, so that is brand new, I have to give it gas above 1,000RPm to stay on, any ides whast it might be?

Thanks

I would check the IAC or idle air control solenoid. You can unbolt it from the intake manifold and plug it back in, in your hand and have someone turn on the key and watch inside it to see if it opens.

No ford's will run even going back 20 years if the IAC does not open.

You can start the engine with the IAC removed to prove the problem. It may race at high speed, so be ready to shut it off.

If the IAC plunger is crusted up with carbon, you can clean it and oil the mechanical linkage inside, but then this would only be the symptom of some other problem of why it is carboning up.
