My wife and I were in a shopping center parking lot the other day and she ran in the store to pick something up. Upon her return we tried to start the car and it would not start. We went inside to call for a tow truck and by the time we returned to the car (30 min.) It started fine. We took the car to a midas close by and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They said the battery had a good charge and the check engine light wasn't on so since they couldn't recreate the problem there was nothing they could do. This morning my wife said it ran a little rough but was fine once the engine warmed up. Any thoughts?

As the Midas tech advised you, you can't fix what isn't broken. Intermittent problems can be the hardest to resolve because you simply cannot diagnose anything if the problem isn't present. I can give you the diagnostic testing procedures that would have to be performed but unless you have the knowledge and tools available at the time it happens, they won't help you.

I've replaced the idle air control valve once already, about 8 months ago could that be the problem again or maybe a dirty mass air flow sensor?
