1996 Ford Contour problems with my fan

It seems when I start my car my fan turns on to cool the engine. When the engine hasnt been running for hours. Could it be the thermostat?

plus I just had my mechanic change my timing belt. But it makes noises.

No my a/c and defroster wasnt on. I just feel like the engine is just over working itself.

You'll need a scan tool to see what temp it's seeing and whether it's requesting the fan.
