Ford Contour Heater Problem
I,ve had interminnit heat from my heater,car got warm all of the sudden,noticed the drive belt was dammaged by something from the road,stone,bolt,something,replaced upper hose,thermostat,drive belt,pulled waterpump thinking the impellar went out,waterpump is fine,replaced timing belt,could blockage in heater core be the culprite?engine runs fine but starts to run hot,compression is 185 to 205 across the cylinders,no milky oil or coolant,gas mileage not has good as i would like,Please help.

yes, it could be clogged but wont cause the overheating. the radiator may be clogged as well.

could heater control valve be bad due to intermininet heat from heater or caused by damaged drive belt which was chewed up pretty good ?

no heater control valve listed.
try flushing the core first

something locked up causing this. take a close look at all pulleys especially the ac compressor

Drive Belt tensioner pulley only one that showed any sign of damage,either rock or bolt got kicked up onto pulley,I deburred with steel wool,ran cotton ball over area,no snagging,heater output interminent over last 3 weeks,now nothing ?

back to flushing the heater core as suggested
