This is my first tune up I've done on a truck. I bought this Bronco II from my brother-in-law he used to drive it to work daily but when I bought it it sat for around 3 years. He changed the alternator and valve covers and put in a new air filter and cleaned a few things (I'm not sure what). I have been driving it for around a month and I have changed distibutor cap, roator button, spark plugs, spark plug wires, battery cables, when I was putting the battery cables on I broke the starter cylonoid and replaced it, I also sarted putting fuel injector cleaner in it, and replaced the coil. And after about driving it 35-40 miles to my father's it would sputter to a hault. So we assumed it was the fuel filter being clogged since my brother-in-law never changed it. When I went to replace the filter which is located in a canister on the drivers side of the frame, I found out there was abosolutely nothing in the canister. So, I'm assuming that my bro-in-law just took the filter out since he was tight on money. Well when I replaced the filter I was in a hurry and didnt fill the canister with gas again and as I was driving down the road it spudered to a stop like it would have done when I was headed to my father's. So I walked back to the house got some gas and fillied the canister. Then started it. It ran long enough for me to get back to the house where it stopped running. Now, it refuses to start. Any ideas about why it won't? Did I burn the pump out or anything?

If you can hear the fuel pump when you turn key to run-check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel pump if not could be the pump fuse and fuel pump relay or the inertia switch
