Extremely high idle?

The car was fine until leaving work at 5:00am it went crazy at start up. The RPMs shoot to 3-4 grand. It's been undrivable for 3 days now.

Hi,

Do me a favor. This vehicle has a throttle cable. It may have frayed and is causing the throttle to stick.

If you look at the side of the throttle body, you'll see where the cable is attached (see pic below). Inspect the cable first. If you don't see a problem, then I want you to remove the air intake tube from the throttle body and inspect the position of the throttle plate. It should be closed. See pic 2.

Let me know what you find.
