Juddering, losing power and the engine light is on

It is losing power and juddering. The engine management light comes on.

Having the check engine light on means there is a diagnostic code or codes stored in your vehicles computer. These codes are what is causing your car to not perform well. The first thing you need to do is have the codes checked. To save your car from being damaged when the computer senses these trouble codes it will put your car into 'limp mode' until the problems are fixed. Here are a few tutorials showing what is involved with retrieving diagnostic codes from your car and low power:
