Hello, I’m replacing the front driver side door latch assembly in the door with one that I got from the salvage yard. I’d like to know what is the best way to clean it up, and what lubricant should I use to lubricate it before I install it back into the door?

Hello , I'm Danny.

Just about any household cleaner like 409 or Simple Green will work good as a cleaner. Just be sure to get any debris, old grease, etc. off so that the linkage and all parts move freely. I've attached a tutorial showing how to remove a door panel.

I've attached picture steps below on how to remove and replace the door panel and door latch assembly for your car. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
