Hello, first let me say that the body, rear end, well everything but the motor and trans are original. The motor has about 55K on it and the trans has 104K. It started last week. I started up the street as usual and when I came to a stop it flamed out. I was able to start it and then the engine light came on and flashed rapidly, then went out and stayed out the rest of the day. Next day same thing but no light this time. Then I noticed that when I try to excellerate it starts to miss. Today when on crusie I went down one hill at 68mph and by the time I got to the top of the next hill I was off crusie and doing 52mph. The engine light came on for about 15 seconds then off and is still off. I can't pull any codes. ZCould it be the fuel pump, wires, coil? The back fire come thru the throdyl body. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Engine misfiring can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.
