My husband has a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 with just over 190,000 miles. He is currently travelling on business in Kingman, AZ where he is broken down. He said that the truck will not accelerate past about 30 miles per hour and it is also running very rough. Based on other questions answered in this forum, I am guessing that the problem is the fuel pump and possibly the fuel filter. Do you agree with this guess and are both located in the fuel tank?

i do agree with the problem. But the fuel pump is inside the tank and filter is along the driver side on the frame rail. i would just do the filter first. the pump is a good 2 day job if done right.

the fuel pump and filter will ease the idle but not fix the acceleration problem, have the compter checked out along with a compression test
