My oil pressure gage does not show any oil pressure when the vehicle starts. When it is below 30 degrees it takes 15 to 30 seconds for it to register any pressure. Once the vehicle warms up it is fine and has immediate oil pressure.

Could this be a result of engine sludge build up

Do you ever hear a ticking or knocking when it reads 0 oil pressure? If not, replace the oil sending unit. It is a cheap part and easy to replace. Chances are the old one is going bad.

As far as sludge, just keep the oil changed every 3K miles. The engine in your truck should easily go over 200K if you maintain it.

Let me know if you have other questions.

The gauge is fine and also the pressure sensor. It's much worse when it is cold. If it is sludge how do I clean it out. Would dropping the oil pan be the best way or is there something I can add to my oil to help break it up and then change my oil
