My engine stalls, never completely quits?

My engine stalls, never completely quits, skips, and sputters for no more than 1-2 minutes and then runs fine, sometimes for days and other times for a few minutes, only during or just after a heavy or lengthy rain. I can find no evidence of water getting in the engine compartment. What could be causing this? Also, where is the fuel filter located?

When was the last tune up? Try this. At night, start the engine, open the hood, and spray a mist of water on the ignition system and watch for sparks or arcing.

Let me know what you find. Also, has the check engine light ever come on?

The fuel filter and fuel pump are back by the tank which is what sounds like is going out. Here are the instructions on how to change it out in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.
