When dashboard vents selected vents stay on deforst

You are dealing with a vacuum leak in this case. Check under the dash for leaks. The vent doors that direct the air flow are actuated by vacuum. Thus, if it is too low, it won't switch. If you are lucky, start the engine and you may hear a hissing sound from the leak.
