When I bought my truck, the mileage on it was 179,000. Then I had most of the engine rebuilt with new parts. Then I bought an engine cluster from a jiffy lube because it was missing when I got it back. Suddenly I noticed that the mileage is at 79,200. My question is. Is the engine cluster the reason the mileage went down?

What is an engine cluster? Is there another name for it?

It is some thing under the dashboard on drivers side. It controls the gages and I'm asuming the mileage. Is there some way u know that the mileage can be brought down legally.

I think they are refering to the insterment cluster itself. There is a speed / distance sensor that can cause an issue, but this doesn't sound like the problem it would cause.
