I have had problems starting my truck several times in the past few months, but always eventually starts. Today it won't. It turns over but it wont fire. A few times it tries to fire but just wont stay. I put some "heet" water remover in the fuel, but to no avail. I tried to crank it so much I cooked the battery and am now trying to crank it off of jumper cables. Any suggestions?

You should allow the starter to cool off
or you will end up needing a starter too
don’t crank for more then 1 min or so at a time
check for a fuel pressure and if you have spark
no spark: crank sensor, ASD relay
no fuel: fuel pump, fuel pump relay, ASD relay
try some starting fluid in the throttle just a bit place the tube back on after spraying and before cranking
give the gas tank couple of taps in the middle where the pump located while cranking

Your problem doesnt sound like its electrical, Try the fuel filter and pump, I had an 89 ford that did the same thing, I had to turn the key on and off 4 or 5 times then try to start it so the fuel would pump up to start it, I still have to do it till this day because the pump is in the gas tank and is a pain to get to. Also do the basics like plug wires and spark plugs, it cant hurt to try it. If that all dont work maybe check your neutral starting switch, put it in gear and try to start it if it starts or tries to start in any gear but park or neutral replace the switch. Happy hunting (post your progress)
