Just bought a used 2000 Dodge Neon ES. The car is an automatic and has 68,000 miles on it. I have had it a week, and today when I was going through the drivethru to pick up some supper while idling in drive it just killed. Then when I put it in park, after restarting it, it killed again. I started it back up and drove a little ways and then pulled over and let it idle to see if it did it again. It did kill again but I noticed when I shift from park to drive it either kills or comes close to. Idling in park it didn't kill, it just seemed like from idling in park and then shifting to drive makes it kill. I got home and popped the hood. Everything seemed ok, what could the problem be? What should I check?

I am having the same problem on a 2001 Dodge Noen 2.0L with 78,000 miles on it. The problem comes and goes. It sometimes Idles fine in park but when I put it into gear it wants to stall. Other times it dies as soon as I start it. And other times it runs just fine. I first replaced the Fuel Filter and added new gas and gas treatment to the tank. I was getting a P0106 error code (MAP Sensor). So I replaced it. But that didn't help. I purchased a Fuel Pressure Guage and it's fine 50psi. I then tried the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) and it still was no help. Still getting the same P0106 code. I was then able to monitor the computer with software and seen that the MAP pressure was around 8-10"hg at a smooth idle and when I put it into gear it wanted to stall and the MAP pressure went to around 14-17hg. Which tells me it's not a vacuum leak, but rather it's starving for air. I then replaced the Idle Air Control Valve and still didn't fix my problem. Let me know if you found out anything.
