Heater problem
1997 Dodge Neon Front Wheel Drive Automatic 140K+ miles

Buring 4 quarts of oil a week. Had someone glance at it. Checked the oil and it looked full BUT~~~ you could see the dipstick through the oil. Thinking maybe the injector seals are bad. You oponion would be? I am also seeing the service enging idoit light( goes out when new oil is poured in for about 10 min.)

A bad injector seal will usually cause a gas leak and/or a vacuum leak.

The idiot light is probably a low oil warning light. You can have the error codes read at most autoparts stores for free.

The biggest problem is oil consumption, is a lot of blue smoke coming out the exhaust? Do you have any LARGE oil leaks?

Have a compression/leakdown test performed, it may be bad rings. If you drain oil into a pan and it is thin/watery and you should be able to smell gasoline.
