My 99 dodge durango ran fine until today. all of a sudden it started ideling funny, misfiring cylinders 1,3,5,and7, shaking violently and now wont stay running for more than 2 minutes. obdii said multiple misfires and that was it. thought it might be the fuel pump going out but i dont want to spend 200 bucks on a hunch. after a few minutes, it will start back up, idel but badly, misfire and die. reving it up just makes it die quicker. any suggestions?

Hi:
A random misfire can be from several things such as coil, map sensor, mass air flow sensor... Were any other codes identified? Also, I agree with you. I don't think the fuel pump has anything to do with this. It sounds electrical.
