When I start my truck and begin to drive the fan is very loud and gets louder as the RPM's go up. After a half mile or so it will return to its normal speed and sound. It will do it every time the truck is started even if it was just shut off. I checked the blades, belts, air filter, u-joint, and radiator and they are all fine. I cannot figure out. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

The fan clutch may be going bad. What you described is not uncommon and won't hurt anything. The only concern is this. When the temp under the hood reaches a certain temp, the clutch should lock up to spin the fan faster. If it doesn't, then you could have an overheating problem in traffic.

If you need directions for replacement, let me know. However, honestly it won't hurt anything unless it's causing an overheating problem.

Let me know.
