2003 Dodge Caravan Gasket

My husband changed our transmission fluid and filter. It came with a rubber gasket. He put some of the gasket maker stuff on it mainly to hold it in place while putting the pan back on. We let it sit for 24hrs then put in the transmission fluid. Then we discovered that the gasket stuff was still not cured. Will this cause a transmission problem? I am sure some, about a Tablespoon maybe worth of it is in the inside of the pan is not cured. Should we redo this or is it ok?

It is not good to have silicone or other gasket material floating around inside a transmission. Did it have a gasket to begin with or just silicone? Dodge makes a adhesive silicone just for trans pan gaskets that will cure in trans fluid

It is not Dodge's product but rather Permatex Ultra Copper High Temp RTV Silicone Gasket Maker. I don't know if the product was too old or why it didn't set up. Your insight is appreciated

Most likely it got trans fluid on it, which will make it not set up.I suggested the silicone from Dodge, it is made specifically for transmissions
