The part that the gas cap would fit into, which is a funnel type part that, I assume, goes to the tank has become disconnected at the top where the cap would screw into it.

Recently it has become difficult to fuel up, as the fuel spills out onto the ground. The top of the funnel is getting harder to get the pump nozzle into.

How can I fix this?

Hello, it was attached with clips that snap on to the fuel filler tube. They are used with sheet metal screws. If the screws and clips are loose or gone, you'll have to call a dealer to order new ones. Now you know what it's called. Good luck, it's not good, hope it works out for you. If this van's fuel pump was replaced, those screws may have loosened up or been left off accidentily. Use number 10 sheet metal screws.
