2001 Dodge Caravan Clicking Noise
Noises problem
2001 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 112000 miles
I hear a clicking noise when I put the van in gear. The service person at the dealership said that it could be a problem with the lifter. Another person said that it could be a transmission problem. What say you?

Hi:
First, understand I'm not there to hear it, so I'll give you some ideas. Chrysler trans to make a clicking noise when put in gear. It only last about 2 seconds and stops. That noise is normal. A lifter noise will come from the top of the engine.
Does the ticking only happen when you first put it in gear? Does it only go away when the RPM's are increased? Can you tell what part of the car it's coming from?
Let me know and I'll try to help you more.
Joe
