This car has been at shop, will not start. Replaced fuel filter, starter. Car will not start, turn over. Lights are light up in dash. They told me crankshaft very hard to turn, I need a new engine? I am confused. They said flywheel bad, missing teeth after they replaced the starter. I need to know what I should be asking? Looking for?
They quoted $1,300.00 for a engine from the U-Pull it. Thirty day warranty?
Please I need some direction.

First thing is to pull spark plugs and see if engine will turn over by hand, then remove starter so you can see flywheel to see if teeth are missing. If they are that will need to be replaced. Then if engine turns over hard it may be shot. Normally they are not at your mileage unless you ran very low on oil or it was abused in some way. Not being able to see it or physically inspect it this is about all we can give you.
