When I have the heater or defroster on, my car smells like gas. What could cause that? Also, my car has been "running a little hot" lately. When it sits idle for more than a few minutes, the temperature starts to get hotter. I haven't checked my coolant yet, but I just had an oil change 2 weeks ago. What would be the cause of these two problems?

the gas smell could be coming from an exhaust leak under the hood and you smell it when your defrost is on because the air is traveling up. Your car getting hot when ideling sounds like low coolant check it and if low fill if problem presists post back and i'll help you through it
