I had a break job with pads and rotors done at a national chain. As soon as I drove away my ABS and Traction control lights came on. The brake job was preventative. There were no issues prior to the work being done. The check engine light comes on and off and throws codes speed sensor, wheel bearing no response default, thermostat low temperature, cam shaft bank B sensor codes. I have brought it back twice and the problem is persisting. They have replaced sensor housings and sensors. The speed and wheel sensor are for the passenger rear. Upon having someone else look, they found the caliber pins jammed and some splicing of wires. Corrected that and replaced the sensor again. Still throwing the speed sensor and wheel bearing codes but the temp and cam shaft did not return. The car is running rough. The brakes are stiff and jerky. I have an appointment with the dealer for next week but I’m hopeful someone has had a similar problem and it’s not the PCM.

Hi,

The idea that the wheel speed sensor failed was likely done by the people that did the original brake job.

I'm not sure why the other codes are being set after a brake job. By chance, do you know if there were codes retrieved from the computer? If there were, do you know what they are?

I don't know if you are comfortable doing this, but here is a link that explains how to test a wheel speed sensor. I would like to know if the problem is at the wheel or after it. Testing will tell me if the sensor itself is working.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

Let me know as much as you can.

Take care,

Joe
