I started the truck and drove it to work, went to leave and when I turned the key nothing happened. Replaced the battery/ battery cables/ starter relay in engine fuse panel/ and the key switch cylinder. Still nothing. I did turn the key to "on" and took a wire and touched the battery to the starter, truck started right up. Turned it off, then tried key again, nothing. I have been stumped for a week. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

The problem appears to be between the ECU and the ignition switch. See pic 1 for a description and possible causes. Pic 2 provides the diagnostics for the code.

Before anything, check the AM1 fuse in the under-hood fuse box. Check the fuse first. Then, if the fuse is good, make sure there is power to and from it. That is vital.

Take a look through the diagnostics and let me know if that is something you are comfortable performing.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,
