2004 Chrysler Sebring changing thermostat on a 2.7L engine

2004 Chrysler Sebring 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I am new to your site and needing to change the thermostat on a friends vehicle and needing to confirm thermostat location is under the upper rad. Hose. The parts store says the thermo gasket is $9.00 at carquest. Please advise a. Sa.P. Jim

If on the 2.7L engine then you will need to remove the alternator to gain access to the thermostat.
