1987 Chrysler New Yorker car wont start

The car has a new starter good baterie connections from starter to batterie seem to be ok. Turn the key I get a very faint click somewher allong fire wall that is it what do you think is wrong

Hi:
If all is good, check the starter relay. I believe it is on the inner fender or power distribution box.

I know this post is old, but I'll chime in. Try having a friend try to start the car and look under the hood on a dark night. The faint sound might be a spark from a loose ground wire (specially the one that attaches the solenoid to the starter housing). I know it seems unlikely with a new starter, but that is the first thing I would check. That is what I would check after verifying that, as Jacobandnickolas suggests, the starter relay is ok. You can do this with a multi-meter.
