Car will not crank or turn over but lights, stereo, heater and everything else works. Drove and started fine earlier but was having trouble starting for a while before. Could the starter be bad.

If you hear a single loud clunk from the starter, suspect worn contacts in the starter solenoid. They can be replaced for 20 bucks but most people just replace the entire starter. It will crank eventually if you cycle the ignition switch enough times, but it will continue to get worse over a number of weeks.
