I just got this 1996 chevy k1500 4x4 4.3 6 cyl. Actually, my dad found it, and I just picke it up. Anyway, the only way to start the vehicle is to spray starter fluid into the carbuerator, sometimes once, sometimes 4 or 5 times. That's the only problem. My dad thinks it's the fuel pump. What is your take?

Hi, I'd use a fuel pressure gage on it, before going further. Some of the national brand autostores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage, if you don't have one. An over-all tune-up wouldn't hurt anything.

If you have the spider fuel system, sometimes the fuel poppets need cleaning.
