My check engine light has been on, and we were told it was just a sensor but was no big deal but my car won't pass emission and need to know if that has anything to do with it. Should I just replace the sensor and hope that fixes the problem? I am not a car person AT ALL so I'm hoping that someone here can help me so I don't have to pay $85 just to have someone tell me what the problem is. Please help, and thank you!

Changing the sensor wil help but you need the code erased and if you have a pro do it he will do all of that. Then get your oil and filter changed, drive the car/truck about 15 miles on teh eway before the test and you shol dpass with flying colors. But you wlill have to get the sensor fixed and codes erased.
