1994 Suburban C1500 140,000 miles V8 not 4wd

This has happened every I am in the car and now is happening more often. I will be driving fine down the road - front AC and rear AC on or neither on and then all of a sudden the truck will die - the radio goes off, the air goes off, the battery light comes on and probably the check engine light, the truck begins to lose speed then just as you figure out what happened it starts back up - the acceleration is there, the radio is back on and the air is back on.

My husband thought I was crazy but then it happened to him several times this weekend. He has a voltage meter, etc and does most of our auto repairs but he has no idea where to start to check this problem which he assumes is electrical. Can you tell me where to start or what this might be?

I appreciate anyones insight.

Thanks to the overwhelming replies - not. I thought this site was monitored by people who fixed cars and stuff but I would have thought they would have some reply but none, so here is what I did to fix the problem in case someone else experiences the same thing.

Replaced the acceleration sensor (located under the air filter)
Changed the fuel filter
Ran 2 bottle of fuel system cleaner through and plan to run 2 more through at next fill up. 2 bottle treats more than number of gallons my truck holds and I did that on purpose to make sure it got treated well and I used the expensive name brand stuff from walmart not the generic.
