Low coolant light comes on

Low coolant light came on filled surge tank to appropriate level perhaps slightly more. No leak at weep hole @ waterpump. Thermostat seems okay, can smell coolant outside of vehicle and after filling there was slight coolant loss near manifold towards back of engine appears to have stopped leaking. Pinched upper radiator
hose not sure if there is any flow hose is hot so i'm a little lossed any help would be appreciated

Sounds like a bad headgasket. Perform a compression test to see if their is a cracked head or bad headgasket.

I'd hate to take it in to find out if it was just an overfill
the low coolant light has remained off and the leak is completely gone. I would imagine if it was head gasket I would have other symptoms that would be more severe.
The truck runs fine is ther any tests I could take without shelling out the ducketts I am fairly handy myself would it be more beneficial to get the appropriate tools myself.
