I was wondering how to remove the plug wires in my truck. I am not familiar with the metal casing around the plugs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thses can be a hassle to get out. I use a spark plug wire removal tool to try to work them off in one piece with out mangleing them. If you are doing the wires, try to get them out first. Using a twisting pulling motion the heat sheilds can be removed...sometimes. What I might try next time is to place a deep socket into the sheild that is as close as possible to the diameter of the sheild so I can get a better grip and not crush it. I have seen techs pull these and toss them. I try to salvage and re-use them or replace the ones I can't. They are there for a reason as I see it.
