I have had my trans service twice in the pass year, the problem is after I drive about two hours on a freeway then come to a stop and then go again the trans jerks real bad coming out of first and then just a little coming out of second, I can pull over turn my truck off for about 15 mins then go agian and everything is ok, my question is, while having the trans service, new filter and all should the repair place pump out the torque converter to get all dirty fluild out of the transmission? Thanks for your help.

It doesn't sound like that would help. Actually, most places offer a trans flush. They attach a machine to the trans cooling lines and start the engine. As the car runs, the old trans fluid is drained out while all new goes in.

However, that doesn't sound like the problem. WHen first reading your post, I thought it could be a bad shift solenoid, but the fact that it shifts normal after turning it off leads me to think of the trans control module (TCM). Has the check engine light ever come on?

Let me know.

Joe
PS: Save your money on the trans service.
