Fuel pressure is fine. Fuel pump tested okay. Truck threw only one code P0108, MAP. Replaced MAP Sensor, Truck started at first crank (For a change), and died again.

Will codes P0171 and P0174 keep a 1999 silverado 5.3 engine from starting. Will a defective MAF keep thee truck from starting. It died at red light and would crank but not start.

No, they won't prevent it from running but they are an indication that the engine was running to lean and likely starving for fuel meaning the fuel pressure was likely low. This engine requires a minimum of 55PSI to run and bad fuel pumps are common.

NO, it can't "blew" a timing belt because it doesn't even have one.

One day I was driving down the road in the truck and it sputtered out and died. No security light came on nor has it ever except for when I open the door which is normal. It will turn over but won't start. It will crank for a second when you pour has in the throttle body. I checked the fuel pump and every line connected to it and it's all good. Can you help me figure out what it is? It's urgent it's my only transportation and I need to get it back running asap.

Check fuel pressure with a gauge should be 60-66 psi, these had an issue with the harness at tank and had to be replaced with about a foot of harness with new connections as well as pump. Delco supplies it with their pumps and a few others do as well.

In my truck you can be going down th road driving just fine but after 10 or 15 miles it just losses all power. The veicle wont die its just when you hit the gas nothing happens it just slows down untill it stops. You can pull over and let the truck sit for about 5 minutes and it will drive fine for another 10 or 15 miles and it does it again.

Check engine light come on during the problem.
Have you had truck checked for trouble codes?
If no codes you may contamination in fuel tank. When you start out pickup screen is clean but after driving debris clogs it up truck starves for fuel. Let it debris fall away clears pickup you drive off process starts all over.
Good luck let me know
