HELP

I HAVE A 1993 CHEVY SILVERALDO EXT. CAB 4.3 LITER ENGINE. IT JUST DIED ON ME TODAY. IT WILL NOT START ON IT'S OWN. I POURED GAS INTO THE THROTTLE BODY AND IT STARTED. IT SEEMS TO IDLE FINE UNTIL I PUT IT IN GEAR. AS SOON AS I PUT IT IN GEAR IT DIES. I CAN HEAR THE FUEL PUMP COME ON. BUT NOT SURE WHERE TO START.

THANK YOU

Lets do this-check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge-No eyeball or thumb method it has to be a gauge and comeback with the readings.

Below is your fuel system electrical circuit.

Well, we did not have any access to a fuel pressure tester, so we went ahead and replaced the fuel pump. I am still having the same problems. Any other idea as to what to check out next? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Do you have a repair manual?

What type of fuel system do you have? TBI or CPI Spider

Check the idle air control valve and EGR open it up and clean it.

I need to know the fuel pressure this is very important
