I ran out of gas about a week ago and have problems starting since. I have checked battery and alternator both in good condition. I have changed the fuel filter and plugs. When I took the fuel filter off I made sure that the fuel was flowing and I could see it. Can you tell me if the fuel pump could still be the problem?

Running the car out of gas can damage the FP, since the gasoline cools the pump. Running it low or out can cause it to overheat.
Check fuel pressure with a mechanical gauge.
