2003 Chevy Malibu clicking or clunking

The clink starts after you get to 30mph if you let your foot off the gass and you hear a quick clunk like a shot drive axel but going strait. This clunk only goes away: A) when the engine has some strain.
B) when the brakes have some strain

Check the inner cv joint, if worn it will cuase these symtoms.

I just replaced both axels 3 days before this started could it be somthing withe the breaks

It was a snapped break pad

Could be one of the replacement axles is no good, the clunk is due to slack in a plunger joint, that's the inner joint!
