Engine Mechanical problem
1982 Chevy Corvette V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic uknown miles

This is a crossfire 5.7. Ive had the throttle bodys worked on because of an idle problem which was a prob lem for crossfire engines. I think it might be a plug, could that be possiable? It runs fine going down the road. Another possiable is a leaking vacum hose. The plugs on this car are very hard to get to unless you rack it. I have changed the dist cap and rotor. The plugs and plug wires were changed about 10,000 miles ago. Anything else I could check?

The first thing to do is find out what cylinder is missing.

Hook up a tach. Then rev the motor to the r.P.M.S where it usually misses. Then remove one spark plug wire at a time (From the distributor cap).

Every time you remove a wire, the r.P.M.S should drop down. (About 500 r.P.M.) If you remove a wire and the r.P.M.S don't drop, then that cylinder wasn't firing.
