96 Corsica 116,000 miles.

This problem started a couple of weeks ago. My car starts to buck when I try to reaccelerate on the highway. It also has been running a little rough at red lights and stop signs (sometimes, not all the time). And now the service engine soon light just came on yesterday. I was told it can be a tourque converter lock up switch. Is that possible? And what am I looking at price wise if I took it to some one like AAMCO.

Thanks

Yes, its a very high possibility that its your torque lockup converter or switch, have your friend show you where the switch is on top of the tranny so you can unplug it, and see if this problem still exists. If not then you know its that. I know people that have had similar problem and unplugged the switch and are still driving years later like that, but you don't want to do that, you should repair it correctly it shouldn't be no more than 150.00
