So I wanted to know if I'm on the right track. The A/C Heater speed control has stopped working on the 1 and 2 position. The fan will only operate at speeds 3 and 4. Is the switch going bad? I have checked the fuses and relays and they all look okay. How do I go about checking this out?

Thanks,
DustoMan

Sounds to me youre switch is almost wornout. I think a new switch should fix it.

How easy is that to replace?

EDIT: I can't seem to find that part anywhere online. Can someone help out? It's a 2002 Cavalier LS

My friend has the exact same car with this exact problem. It's caused by water getting down into the air intake for the blower motor and corroding the "Blower Motor Resistor". Popped the glove box off and unbolted the blower motor to check out the resistor and sure enough. Two of the four lines were worn away. Popped a new one back in, cleaned the leaves and debris out of the blower motor and put it all back together. Has worked like a charm since.
